Alex the Lion joined in our weekly yoga session and the children loved seeing him get into different positions.

The children have been busy planting peas, sunflower seeds, carrots and tomatoes - yum.  When the carrots, peas and tomatoes  grow we can eat them at snack time!

The week we have had lots of pets visiting us.  We've had a rabbit, a sheep, a hamster and a puppy which, when trained will become a police dog.  After the pets had visited us, the children had fun making pet puppets out of socks.

A parent came into session and did a magic show.  The children loved watching the tricks and were really impressed.

Olympic torches were made and the children did a relay race in preschool and the children showed excellent team spirit and loved cheering their friends on.

Lots of fun water play was had as the children made the most of the gorgeous weather.  On Wednesday afternoon, the children had a quiet moement session as they were very hot.

For our Thursday afternoon session the children went to the allotment and did some more digging, weeding and planting beans and peas.

Lots of fun animal pictures have been made where the children used stamps to make them.

Lots of cutting out of magazines was done and the children enjoyed using the scissors.

A game was played where some princessess were trapped outside - (don't panic they weren't on their own).

We had a staff members birthday at preschool, so the children had lots of fun making cards and celebrating her birthday.

Some children visited the mobile library so they could pick some new books for us to read.

The children got very excited about the new topic "pets".  Preschool was full of chatter and excitement with the thought that some pets may be brought in.

Den building was popular and the children loved making a course for their scooters.  The course went over, around and under various items.

An open resources box was made so that the children could pick out the toys they wanted to play.  The children loved this.

For our Thursday afternoon session, the children went for a walk to find nests and were playing the game 1, 2, 3 where are you??

The children have been making the most of our lovely weather and have had lots of fun playing in the rain.

It was great to see the faces on the children when they were learning and watching how the tadpoles were changing.

The babies were popular again and the children loved taking on a "parental" role.

For the Thrusday afternoon session, the children went for a walk to the allotments and the children enjoyed watching the animals take shelter under trees and the pigs sheltering in their house.  Lots of fun was also had when the children tried to climb a slippery mud hill.

We have had a baby theme this week in our preschool.  The children have been learning how to look after babies and discovering how they move and what they need.  A board game was even played to see if the children could recognise their friends, and staff in the baby picutres previously brought in.

Lots of fun was had when the children made pirate swords, telescopes, ships and treasure maps.

Magic painting was popular with the children where they used crayons and black paint.

On Thursday afternoon we went for a walk to the stones and fun was had looking for numbers and playing hide and seek.

Mr Freeze visited the preschool and hids a number of frozen objects in the garden for the children to find.

A big scooter course was made and the children had lots of fun making ramps and going under the frames and weaving in and out.

Water play was very popular again - the children just love having a splash and seeing what floats and sinks.

The children have had another fantastic week at our preschool.  They have been fascinated with breaking real eggs and watching them to see what happens.  They have also had lots of fun doing egg and spoon races.

The scramble nets and tyres were very popular with the children crawling through them.

We have been acting out the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears story and the children have thoroughly enjoyed this.

There was huge interest in the water play as the weather has been lovely.  They have enjoyed finding out how water travels using guttering and putting it at different angles and at different heights.

For our Thursday afternoon session, the children put the tadpoles in the pond and had a wonderful egg hunt following clues to find the Easter Bunny.

Godilocks was the theme of our yoga session this week.  All of the children enjoyed this session and the younger ones had a good go at getting into the positions as well.  This was good gross motor activity and confidence building.

After a visit to a pond, the children have been continuing this theme and have watched the frog spawn collected hatch into tadpoles.  Pleae can you observe with your child the changes and what is happening.

Pirate ships and scramble nets.  The children are thoroughly enjoying these activities giving them lot of chances to use their gross motor skills and imaginative role play.

For our Thursday afternoon session, the chldren worked together in teams of 4 to help the chicks back their nest by looking at the numbers on their backs.  This was great team work.
