Last week was Pet Week, and the children really enjoyed their visitors. Staff and parents brought in a whole variety of pets, including:
* Hamsters * Guinea Pigs * Rabbits * A Dog We were also visited (outside) by a Pony and even a Goat! During the week we talked with the children about caring for pets. We looked at the photos you brought in from home and we made pictures of fish, fish tanks, and dogs. We also set the children the challenge of working out how they could 'rescue' a pet which had got trapped high up in a tree. The children decided to use a ladder and some sticks to rescue the pet. Setting challenges like this is a great way to help the children develop their problem solving skills. This week's theme, in response to the children's interests, is going to be about holidays and the summer. As you can see we already have a 'beach' set up outside. We've received our Ofsted report and will be putting a copy for parents in trays. We got 'Good' in all categories, and the Inspector told us that we were verging on 'Outstanding' in several areas. Of course, what's important for us is the every day experience that we offer your children, but it is nice to be told that we are on the right lines. Very well done to all our fantastic staff for this amazing achievement.
