Weekly Makaton Signs: Hello, Thank you, please and good.
We've been busy making lots of Christmas surprises ready to share with our families on our last day. Many sparkles and other things to stick and glue. We have now introduced our Christmas selection of books for you to take home and share. You may also have heard that we have an advent calender whereby two children a day are selected to take a look inside the days square where a chocolate each maybe found. The children can then place their chocolate into their draw for them to take home later on. The two children that get chosen also get to sit in the sleigh during mat time. Everyone will get to have a turn. We had our Cafe morning last Tuesday. A great opportunity to get together for a chat, some cake and a closer look at the preschool; seeing the children at play. Also an opportunity to raise valuable funds for the preschool. So a big thank you to those involved in supporting us. We have been doing some more practice with our Nativity Story and songs, some very lazy kings and Queens who snore a lot. We have also been doing plenty of balancing – walking along the planks, some were higher than others, some children were braver than others, some liked to just watch, others crawled along, some walked, some jumped off the end and others climbed down. All sorts of capabilities! Some learning from others how to do it and trying different ways of achieving the same goal. Thursday Forest School – We practised more of our balancing skills and were seeing how high we could get up the tree's, some great tree climbing skills there! We were also experimenting with our swing and found that we could also swing by standing on the rope and swung standing up! In the afternoon we made some fat balls for the birds, we have left some down there to see if the birds eat them by next week and we have brought some back to give to the birds in our own back gardens. Yoga on Friday – One of our Mum's Claire (Arthur's Mummy) very kindly ran a yoga session with our children. How could we be an angel, a Christmas tree, a snowman and a snowball. Good listening from everyone and good moves! At the end we all melted like a snowman to slow down.
