We have still been practicing the Chinese New Year story for our yoga. The children have been getting into their poses and are looking forward to showing you at our celebrations on Monday 25th February.
The children have made a giant snake outside for the Chinese New Year and they loved painting him and decorating him ready for our Snake Dance - they just can't wait to show you all. Inside the children have been making chinese lanterns to decorate our hall. There was lots of cutting, glittering and the children enjoyed this task thoroughly. On Wednesday afternoon the children used chopsticks outside to make different sounds, tapping the barriers, walls, shed etc. We enjoyed our sing up song and even came up with some new ones of our own. The animals are still a huge success, the children were making slides for the animals. There was lots of onversations regarding Africa and where the different animals are from, wchat what they would like to eat. Thursday afternon we walked accross the field with our bird spotting sheets and saw ducks on the water. There were plenty of pigeons too. We collected natural resources to make bird feeders using cheerios, a good chance to practice our fine motor skills.
