For Yoga this week we had the Zodiac story which was told at Our Chinese New Year Celebrations. It was lovely to see children and parents joining in and it was nice to show you what the children are learning, We had a successful Chinese lunch which was lovely to share with so many of you. Thank you to all that helped us - it was greatly appreciated. We are still continuing to learn the Makaton signs for Hello, Good Girl and Good Boy. We've had lots of stormy weather and big puddles. There was a stream of water running down the road - come on cars, lets make a splash. The children were standing back to see how big a splash the cars could make. Wow - how far did the water splash?? Oh no - watch out a big red Massey Ferguson tractor - stand back everybody. Now let's ride the scooters through puddles. How far can we slash? Stand back!!!! Lots of fun was had in the sand pit which was undercover. The children made sandcastles which stayed up really well. Why? Because the sand was wet, just like everything else, but we can still have fun. Yeah! The babies have been popular this week. The children have been looking after them really well. Dressing and undressing them. Getting them ready for all the different events the children have taken them to (parties, shopping, holidays & grandma's house). What busy, busy families. The hobby horses have been out again and the children enjoyed some great role play with large groups of children playing together and all adding great ideas to their adventures. There was lots of really kind sharing and children taking it in turns on the horses as well as using them together - really lovely to watch. On Thursday afternoon we had lots of splashing in puddles on our walk. We were spotting things as we walked. What could we see? Not many animals out, they were all keeping dry. We did see a horse and some flowers which were beginning to show their heads - snowdrops amongst the hedgerow. More splashing and off to the farm to say hello to Daisy. We then played 123 Where are you in the churchyard. We've had fun mixing paints - what colours mix well. A rainbow, sweetie jar, crazy curly hair - wicked creative designs all to share with our mums and dads. Fantastic imaginative creations. Mud pies have been great fun. Mixing mud, water, sand, stone and vegetation. Ohh lovely , gooey, slushy, mucky swirley - lots of good descriptive words and perfect 'pies'.
