We are still continue to practise Thank you, Good, The Hello Song and Hello in Makaton signs.
On Wednesday we had a visit from Stanton Drew Primary school Class 1 as part of our transition process. They showed us their dance from the Chew Valley Dance Festival and then sang us a song about India. We had a break and a play and then they showed us their storymaking tiger story. We enjoyed joining in with the actions and all had a nice time. We have had lots of water play this week. Sinking and floating. What floats? And why do some things float and some sink? Plenty of obstacle courses – under, over, jumping, climbing on, balancing and investigating what we can do with the planks. It was discovered that a see saw could be made. Then we had to work out how to make it work. Sometimes we needed some help from others. The children enjoyed working out that some children were bigger/smaller, heavy/not as heavy. Good teamwork. Last week we played with the grass – this week we made pictures with grass – so many things to be done with grass. On Thursday afternoon the children were mark making with different natural objects and making colours using dandelions, daisies, leaves, pine cones, mud and sticks! We bashed down some stinging nettles to get down to our den and then explored down to our tunnel. We were able to climb through the tunnel and find our way over the hill. It was a great adventure. On Friday we had pizzas for snacks which the children made. We had pitta bread for our base and red sauce to spread over. Some wanted cheese, cheese and ham, some no cheese! Lovely pizzas but we’ve only made 5, but there are 10 children – wait cut them up in ½. Now we have 10. Better make one for Lisa!!!
