At preschool we help the children to learn basic makaton signs which is a form of sign language. We learn rhymes, action songs and other signs for food items and help to explain why we use them. If you would like to know more, then please do not hesitate to ask and perhaps you and your child can learn together.
We have been playing lots of name games, helping everyone to learn new names and remember some of our older names. We are currently looking for one of our Gold Rules which is “Putting Toys back” – helping children to understand the importance of putting things away – so that they don’t get broken, so we can find them again, so we don’t lose them or break them or even trip over them. We also explain “What is” tidying away. Thursday Forest – we had a great time at Forest Club in the sunshine. There was lots of team work to improve our den to make it big enough for all of us. We found some blackberries in the hedges which we enjoyed as part of our snacks. We explored our wooded area and found a path through and under the bridge. No sign of the Gruffalo!!!! We played our hide & seek game “1, 2, 3 Where are you?” which encourages the children to use “listening ears” and find the voices, lots of talk around in front, behind, closer and further away. We enjoyed lunch and then explored some more before heading to the orchard to pick some apples – yummy.

Very good thing for the kids to learn. My daughter is 2 years old and I will definitely make her learn these things.
