Makaton signs – Hello, Good and Thank You. Ask your child to show you.
You may have started to hear some of our Christmas songs. We have started to play this music in the background, during sessions, to get the children used to learning these tunes ready for the end of term when we like to share them with you. Thursday Forest Club – This week the Forest Witch left our den alone, but we still found some extra sticks to build it bigger and better. Some of the sticks we found we used as horses to ride around on, some were swords and some were magic being used by Knight Leaf, Knight Stick, Princess Pink and Princess Rainbow. At story time we had hot chocolate to drink. We talked about fire and safety and how only Lynne was allowed to be in the fire circle. Some of the children were coming up with ideas of what else we could use on the fire, hot dogs, toast and marshmallows. Yum, Yum some great ideas guys! We have a new toilet for outside use now which makes it easier to use when needed. A new camping toilet bringing the inside outside. Lots of splashing with our wellies and creating rainbows by using powder paints in the puddles and watching where the water runs and how the colours mix. We have been looking for “putting our own coats on”. Now that it is getting colder and wetter we need to help ourselves rather than wait around for that adult. Its a good idea to first put the hood of the coat on your head, like a cape for a super hero, then put one of your arms in the armhole of your coat then find the other armhole and yeah you've done it. Mission complete.
