We have been doing the Chinese New Year story in yoga this week. We have been acting out the animal poses and will continue this theme after the half term. We will be celebrating the Chinese New Year on the 25th February. Please come along and enjoy a chinese banquet and our very own snake dance!
The children wanted to build a rocket with large boxes. There was great team work with lots of creative flair. We used the rocket to fly to Uranus, Jupiter and Mars! We then sailed to France and finally "Tenerifeee". We then went back to the beach and floated around in our rubber rings. Later we went in to watch the hotel entertainment and have lunch. After lunch we went back to the beach - what a busy day! Inside we were very creative by building a "Tangerine Tree" for our story of "Handa's Surprise". We did lots of junk modelling and used our natural resources. The children are still enjoying listening, recalling and acting out this fabulous story. The easle was popular this week. The children should be bringing home some beautiful colourful pictures for you. Inside we also had the sand out. The children put wild animals into the sand and created their own desert like "Africa". We will be extending this interest. The number taker keeps coming and hiding our numbers. The children have loved finding the missing numbers and this is an excellent opportunity for us to observe and extend your childs knowledge of numbers. On Thursday afternoon we walked accross the fields and played our loud and quiet game. We also played the standing game, "Duck, Duck, Goose". On our way back one child got stuck in the mud but was very quickly rescued by Kelly. We walked back singing our "Stay in the Line" song. When we return we are having a theme around space, if any parents/grandparents etc have ideas or are able to help transform the playshed into outerspace, please let us know.
