Weekly Makaton Signs - Hello, Goodbye and Thank you.

We have been practicing our Happy New Year song in Chinese and going over the story of how the Chinese Zodiac Calendar was decided, which animal was chosen and why; all ready for us to share on Wednesday when we shall be indulging in some Chinese food too.
We have had a large blue tarpaulin sheet outside this week.  You would be amazed how much fun this could be!  Firstly it was a river, a deep river, but it could also be a boat, but it became a bit rocky as there were such big waves, quick back into the boat the crocodiles are coming, look out for the dolphins, oh no they are splashing their tales.  The following day it was a place to hide.  It was very windy and it kept blowing up and away.  Children were getting in and disappearing underneath.  Oh no where have they gone?  "123 where are you?"
"Boo! there you are all wrapped up like a parcel"

Show 'n' Tell - a chance to bring in that special item to Show n Tell us about it; where did it come from? have you had it a while, is it soft, is it hard, what's it made from? is it big, small? where do you keep it?  These items are kept safely in the show and tell box.  They are not things to be played with by others generally as we do not want them to get broken or damaged.  It is an opportunity for those doing the telling to talk about their special item whilst others listen.  Its about waiting your turn to speak, a chance to think of a question that they may want to ask about someone else's Show n Tell and to discover new things about each other.

Thursday Forest Club - More swinging on our rope/tyre swings, taking turns to have a go, helping our friends on and off, helping to push and swing each other.  Re making our dens, revisiting our dens and creating stories around our dens.  Climbing trees and fallen logs, games, stories, hot chocolate, hot milk, lunch and having lots of fun crawling and rolling around in the mud.
