Welcome back. Lots of good things have happened over the holidays. Trips on planes, trains, building sandcastles, swimming, winning rosettes and riding ponies.
We had some new faces to welcome and to show around and help. Thank you to the others who are helping us in helping them. Our top tip - Sharing or asking simple questions about pictures in a favourite book will add to the pleasure a favourite book gives and becomes a shared experience. "Lovely rabbit isn't he? So bouncy, bouncy!" or "The clown has on those funny big baggy trousers." We are continuing to practice the Makaton signs for Hello, Thank You and Good. The children have done well to remember these. For Yoga this week we had Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. They went through the woods with tall houses, lots of porridge and angry faces! Poor old baby had no porridge, no chair and could not get into bed - how many sad faces?? We are still enjoying the sunshine and doing lots of snipping, sticking and painting. So many wonderful creations to take home and share. This has helped us to build up our hand muscles for good fine and large motor skills. There has been some good new friendships forming as we all learn to care, share and play together. On Thursday afternoon we talked about our outdoor area, the Golden Rules and introduced our new children to "staying safe" at Forest School. We explored the outdoor area and met the new horse Joey. Some blackberries were picked on the way home but had all disappeared by the time we got there????
