Can we just start by saying a big thank you for your patience at opening time. There have been a number of parties at the hall lately which meant that staff had to do a full packaway on several occasions. Staff only have 30 minues to unpack everything and get the hall ready for your arrival.
We have been following the Halloween theme with yoga and a few children helped others to try out new poses - great team work. We had a lovely game of "Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin" - we blindfolded the children and they had to use a pencil to draw a nose on the pumpkin - the children loved seeing the funny faces they made. Handprinted ghosts were added to our display at the back of the hall. We also had "Find the Pumpkin" game. We hid 12 pumpkins around preschool and the children enjoyed find them - it was a great team game where the children encouraged each other. A witches cavern was set up in the bottom corner of preschool - it was excellent fun for role play and children loved re-telling the story "Room on the Broom". Outside there was lots of witches potions being made in a cauldron. Children had lots of very messy play. This was incredibly beneficial for all children and it was a huge delight to watch such happy giggling faces. Some children spent time snipping vegetables with scissors to make a vegetable soup. This was excellent for strengthening their hand muscles. They all tasted the soup at lunchtime and said "It was Delicious". The children also enjoyed dressing up as witches and wizards and were wanting to write down their own spells which they had made up to turn people into frogs and dinasuars - watch out!!! Outside we made our sledge into a rocket. We used chalk to draw and decorate the sledge. We then flew to the moon, counting down to blast off! Thursday afternoon the children made a deep muddy hole and filled it with water. They then used resources such as wood, sticks, to make a bridge across the hole.

How do the staff manage to prepare the hall for the arrival of guests within a tight timeframe, considering the frequent need for a full packaway due to parties held at the hall?
