Makaton Signs. We are still continuing to learn Good, Thank You and Please. We have been learning these for a very long time. The reasoning behind this, is that we are trying to get the children to do them automatically when they come into preschool. We are also learning other signs during our preschool sessions, for example, “Milk” at snack time. Ask your child to show you what signs they know.
For Yoga this week we had Goldilocks and theThree Bears. Daddy, Mummy and Baby bears and chairs and beds!!! “Oh no, who's been sitting in my chair? Oh no – its broke.” How does Baby bear feel – so sad, and Goldilocks when she wakes, her surprised face!!! Good moves and listening. Well done. More large boxes to decorate in preschool. What can we find to cut and stick on. What will the box be? A house, a den, a car or a cave. The Easel was inside and proved to be very popular. We have some lovely creative pictures heading home to you all. On Wednesday afternoon we enjoyed making dens outside with our boxes and ended up making one into a slide. We sang our sing up song and then practised our 3 bears story using our yoga moves and repeated phrases. On Thursday afternoon we walked to the outdoor area. We remembered our Golden Rules to stay safe. We explored a wooded area whilst Lynne got the kelly kettle on to make hot chocolate for a child's birthday party – we had cakes as well. We then played Stuck in the Mud. Hiding – Where have they all gone? The children enjoyed finding places to hide and finding those that are hiding. Come on Kelly, where is she? Where has she gone? Some very good teamwork when tidying up “What's going to work – teamwork”.

We are still continuing to learn Hello, Thank You and Good in Makaton signs. Ask your child to show you what they know.
For Yoga this week we had Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Talking about big, medium and small. Lots of stretching and talking about feelings and feeling sad. On Wednesday afternoon we had Sing Up Song. We also had a party for Bella's Birthday with Pass the Parcel, Musical Statues and we finished with a lovely game of Follow the Leader – what fun! We've been testing our memories this week. Having a tray of items, then removing one item and seeing if we could see which one was missing. Some good remembering was done. Well done and keep looking closely. There has been lots of creativity this week with truning a box into a Gingerbread House, how many can get inside? 2 it would seem!! A bit of a squash and a squeeze. On Thursday afternooon we walked to our outdoor area, we went to the our wooded area and built a den. We used lots of different sized sticks. We did some rubbings on different surfaces. It was very cold and windy but we had great fun flying out tarp as a giant kite. We ended with a game of chase before heading back to preschool. Welcome back.
We are still continuing to learn Thank You, Good and Hello in Makaton signs. The children have had lots of things to share, their stories about where they had been, who they had seen, the new toys to play with – some even saw Santa! We wish to wlecome some new faces into preschool. For Yoga this week we had Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. We are running our own sessions now and said a sad farewell to Nicki at the end of the last term. Let's get stretching, reaching, bending and moving all those mince pies off! On Thursday afternoon we walked to our outdoor area and introduced our new attendees to our golden rules and our listening circle. We explored our wooded area and found that we couldn't crawl through our tunnel as it was too wet. We then had a lovely game of Fox, Fox, Goose – what fun. |
