We had lots of fun with our Yoga this week as we practised our positions along to the story of The Ugling Duckling. We were moving around gracefully like swans.
Some of the boys were mad about cars and garages, so lots of fun was had by making a car park. The children also enjoyed racing the cars down drain pipes - who came 1st, 2nd or 3rd? There was lots of discussions on which car would come down the fastest, which car would go the furthest and why. We have made a start on our Christmas Craft surprises - theryou will have to wait and see!!! Our sleigh is being decorated by the children, making it look lovely with paint and lights. Each child will get a chance to sit in the sleigh when it is mat time - this helps to make them feel special. On Thursday afternoon, we walked to the allotment and had a tidy up. Mr Freeze had visited us during the night and we had great fun in smashing ice and then jumping on it - once child even said "cracking stuff Gromit". We also played hide and seek 1, 2 3 to help us keep warm. Watch out for next Wednesday as this is going to be a Spanish Themed day - more information to follow nearer the day.

Our yoga lady came in and the children had lots of fun acting out Goldilocks.
We had an obstacle course which the children enjoyed. We talked a lot about physical activities and the effects on our body. We also had a lovely discussion about eating heathily. There was lots of free craft where the children did lots of gluing. The sorting beans were out and the children found it fun sorting them. With all the bad weather outside, the children put on their big red suits and went outside blowing bubbles. Lots of laughter could be heard from the children whilst they watched their bubbles blow away in the wind. Due to the horrendous weather conditions we decided it was safest to keep the children inside on Thursday afternoon, so they did lots of craft and made a lovely picture of Room on the Broom. We have had another fun week at preschool. We had our yoga lady come in and get us really flexible.
We've been making our own diya lamps for Diwali - The Festival of Lights. The children enjoyed using salt dough to make them and lots of fun was had decorating them with paint. Lots of Hide and Seek was played. The children enjoyed counting to ten and worked well together as a team to hide and to seek each other out. There was no Thursday afternoon session as we were closed for voting. For our Yoga session this week we had a bonfire party with lots of noises and positions for different types of fireworks.
We made a giant firework painting by flicking paint. The children had lots of enjoyment with all the mess and being very creative. We have started making our tealights for Divali. The children enjoyed rolling out the dough and choosing which shape they would like to use, square, circle or heart! We have been busy outside doing the gardening. We have been planting pansies and we now have a lovely hanging basket. We have lots of passionate young gardeners who enjoyed all the digging and weeding. We also had fun outside with the children rolling all the construction toys through the sand on the floor and watching what patterns they could make with the tyre tracks. We had a lovely walk to collect lots of dried leaves to place under our Autmn tree which we have made. On Thursday afternoon we had a walk to the allotment and we played 1, 2 3 Hide and Seek. We were also rescuers for a bit as we found a chicken which had escaped from its run and the children managed to help it get back to its home. Lots of excitement was had helping the chicken. |
