Alex the Lion joined in our weekly yoga session and the children loved seeing him get into different positions.
The children have been busy planting peas, sunflower seeds, carrots and tomatoes - yum. When the carrots, peas and tomatoes grow we can eat them at snack time! The week we have had lots of pets visiting us. We've had a rabbit, a sheep, a hamster and a puppy which, when trained will become a police dog. After the pets had visited us, the children had fun making pet puppets out of socks. A parent came into session and did a magic show. The children loved watching the tricks and were really impressed. Olympic torches were made and the children did a relay race in preschool and the children showed excellent team spirit and loved cheering their friends on. Lots of fun water play was had as the children made the most of the gorgeous weather. On Wednesday afternoon, the children had a quiet moement session as they were very hot. For our Thursday afternoon session the children went to the allotment and did some more digging, weeding and planting beans and peas.

The children have been busy making pet carrier boxes for pets. They've had lots of fun glueing and sticking.
Yoga was back and very popular - a big thankyou to parents. The children have been busing planting peas and on Thursday afternoon they had even more fun digging and weeding at the allotment. Lots of fun animal pictures have been made where the children used stamps to make them. Lots of cutting out of magazines was done and the children enjoyed using the scissors. A game was played where some princessess were trapped outside - (don't panic they weren't on their own). Parent conferencing was held this week and the staff were pleased how this went. We had a staff members birthday at preschool, so the children had lots of fun making cards and celebrating her birthday.
Some children visited the mobile library so they could pick some new books for us to read. The children got very excited about the new topic "pets". Preschool was full of chatter and excitement with the thought that some pets may be brought in. Den building was popular and the children loved making a course for their scooters. The course went over, around and under various items. An open resources box was made so that the children could pick out the toys they wanted to play. The children loved this. For our Thursday afternoon session, the children went for a walk to find nests and were playing the game 1, 2, 3 where are you?? The children have been making the most of our lovely weather and have had lots of fun playing in the rain.
It was great to see the faces on the children when they were learning and watching how the tadpoles were changing. The babies were popular again and the children loved taking on a "parental" role. For the Thrusday afternoon session, the children went for a walk to the allotments and the children enjoyed watching the animals take shelter under trees and the pigs sheltering in their house. Lots of fun was also had when the children tried to climb a slippery mud hill. |
