The children have had fun this week learning about the Olymoics and especially the Paraolympics. They have learned why people may be different and their different abilities. Some Olympic torches have been made.
Yoga was popular with lots of bending and stretching. The children rehearsed their Little Red Riding Hood play and enjoyed getting into the characters. Our local tennis coach came in and did a fun session - the children loved the challenge - perhaps we may have some budding stars for the future!!! Our Thursday afternoon session was spent over the Stone Circles, one child pointed out the bull and explained why he was a bull. The computer was also popular with the children.

Practice has started for our summer play. The children have had lots of fun getting into their roles.
Little Red Riding Hood was the theme for our yoga this week. Lots of fun was had when the children had to guess the sonds they could hear of various musical instruments. The enjoyed having a guess and lots of laughter could be heard above the sounds. At the allottments, the children checked the progress of their tadpoles. We've had two helps in this week on work experience. The children loved having them in. The computer was popular this week and the children enjoyed playing on it. There was a large obstacle course built outside which was a hit with the children and the scooters Some children helped to choose some books from the mobile library. Where's the number? This proved to be very popular with the children where they had to find the missing numbers. This was The children had a fun yoga session this week acting out Snow White. The children loved getting into the different positions and the staff enjoyed it too!
Our local tennis coach came in for a fun session. The children enjoyed learning to balance the balls. Lots of fun was had making a Fathers Day surprise - so don't tell dad! At the allotments, the children were busy planting and digging. This is a very fun session as the children just enjoy being outside in the fresh air. There was fun inside as well where some children started to learn how to write letters in their name on laminated cards. The children have been busy this week making crowns and decorations for our Jubilee party. The party was held on Wednesday afternoon and we were joined by parents for a lovely tea party. Our preschool leader was the queen and headed the procession through the school.
Continuing the theme of the Jubilee, the children enjoyed dressing up as Kings and Queens and had lots of fun giving their orders. Sunflowers were sent home with the children this week. Once the sun flowers have grown, the children can enter them in the local flower show which will be held later this year. We had 2 more dogs come to visit this week. The children enjoyed petting them and feeling how smoothe they were. The dogs loved it too! The Hungry Caterpillar was the topic for our yoga session this week. The children had lots of smiles and laughter acting out this story. For our Thursday afternoon session the children visited the alottment. They had fun digging up the soil and planting runner bean seads with the hope of growing a magic bean stalk. |
