Mr Bear made welcome return back to preschool. The children love to use him to learn about recycling.
Lots of fun was had when the children started making some christmas crafts as surprises for their parents/carers - shh!!!! don't tell. The children had huge smiles on their faces whilst enjoying the trampoline and obstacle course. For one afternoon session the children took a short walk to the local church. They enjoyed looking at the leaves on the floor and listening to all the different sounds they could hear on the way. Some children started to learn to recognise the first letter in their names as well as using name cards to recognise their names.

The week was started off with another fun Yoga session. The children are really enjoying the stories and the fun stretches.
The children had their photos taken and if they had any siblings, they joined in too!. Some wonderful shots were taken with lots of smiles. Gloop was a huge hit with the children using their sensory skills. Lots of enjoyment was had when the children did lots of junk modelling from various household items. Rockets were launched, robots were made and lots of fun was had. As the weather was getting colder the staff brought the sand tray inside. The children liked playing with it in a different environment. In the garden the children hung out Fat Balls for the birds which they had made and planted various bulbs. The yoga lady was in and once again the children had lots of fun listening to the story whilst getting into the various positions.
Lots of art work was done by the children using spray guns filled with paint. They enjoyed this exercise - not sure if the staff enjoyed the cleaning up! A fun game was held in the garden where the staff had hidden numbers in the garden and the children had to find them and work out which numbers were missing. The Gruffalo story was acted out again and the children enjoyed putting masks on and pretending to be the fox, the owl, the mouse, the snake and the gruffalo. Log pile houses were found along with a tree top house for the children to use. The children also had fun using the sequence bears where they had to sort things according to colour and size. Fishing games were also pla The week was started off by our yoga session. The children enjoyed listening to the story whilst getting into the various yoga positions.
A lot of fun building was had when the children made pirate ships put of various boxes and then sailed thehigh seas of Stanton Drew. The children and staff continued putting faces and ghosts on the pumpkins they collected the previous week. The children learnt a new song for Halloween and a few storys were told within the setting - but not scary ones! A lot of discussion was done over firework safety and how to be safe around fireworks. The children then enjoyed making firework pictures using bits of string. The children then went to the Druids to help put some wood on their bonfire for Bonfire night The children enjoyed acting out The Gruffalo story and lots of laughter could be heard. A fun week for all - including the staff! After the visit to the garden centre the children were busy planting the new plants and using their new tools.
Den building was very popular and the children enjoyed painting with grasses! Divali was a topic for the week and the children had the story 'Rama and Sita'. The children made their own Diva lamps out of clay and then decorated them with glitter and paints. We all had fun carving a number of pumpkins and to see what strange faces we could make ready for Halloween. We had a number of new toys for the pre-school baby toys, which included, a potty, play pen, car seat & buggy and feed bottles. The children loved playing with the new toys. |
