We are still continuing to learn Hello, Good and Thank You in Makaton signs.
For Yoga this week we were Helping Father Christmas. We were all elves helping to make and deliver presents. We’ve been very busy glittering, sticking, cutting and creating our amazing items. We have been practicing our Nativity Story, working out where we need to be and who we are. We’ve had lots of fun having a go at party games as well as finding time to play – what fun! On Wednesday afternoon we went on a little walk around to Stanton Drew Church to see all our old friends from Preschool, to watch their nativity story. Thank you. Thursday afternoon we walked to our outdoor area and had a Christmas Party. We played games and then had a hot chocolate made from using our Kelly Kettle. We all listened really well about how we stay safe around the fire. We enjoyed a Xmas tree shortbread and then went on a sweet hunt and found 2 sweets each – yum yum. On Friday it was our Nativity Story. We shared it with all our close family and friends and we had a party afterwards and even Santa came to visit – so much fun. Thank you to one and all and a Merry Christmas to everyone.

We are still learning Hello, Thank You and Good in Makaton signs.
We have had such a busy week – Monday we all got together, with many thanks, to a number of mummies for taking us to Pensford School to see their nativity play. It was brilliant and so nice to see all our old friends from last year. Friday we were all off again, this time to Stanton Drew Church to see Stanton Drew School's nativity play. Again it was fantastic and so good to see so many familiar faces. Meanwhile we have been busy ourselves practising our Christmas story which we wish to share with you on our last date. We have also been so busy making and creating which again will be shared on our last day before we break up for Christmas. On Thrusday afternoon we walked to our outdoor area and we walked through the tunnel and bridge route which was really fun. We used carefully used scissors to collect lots of holly from bushes for our Xmas surprises. We finished with a game of Santa, Santa Fariy – what fun we had. We are still continuing to learn Thank You, Good and Hello in Makaton signs. Get your child to show you what they have learnt.
For Yoga this week we had Noah's Ark. Animals in by 2 by 2. How do we get out of the rain? By train, car, aeroplane? I know boat. We need to build a boat. Let's build it bigger and bigger, taller and taller. Christmas is here. We now have our Christmas selection of books out to take home and share. The sleigh is out for the children to sit in and we have our advent calender out. One child a day will be picked to see what is inside and then to take it home later. This child can then pick a friend to sit in the sleigh during our mat time. We are very busy now starting to create and make our chistmas surprises. There may not be many things coming home as these will be kept until the final week. At this very busy time we appreciate that parents may want a list of names of all the children present. Please feel free to write these down. All the children who attend can be found from the names on the children's drawers. On Thursday afternoon we talked about staying safe and forest school. What happens when we see a strange dog with no owner! We looked at our bird feeders and we decided we needed to bring more cereal for next week or they will be hungry. We played 1, 2 3 Where are You? And Rabbit, Rabbit, Fox and the witch had been again and hid our numbers. We found them all safely – what clever children we are. We are still continuing to learn Hello, Good and Thank You in Makaton signs.
For Yoga this week we had the Ugly Duckling. Let's look into the pond. What can we see? Do we look the same? It's OK to be different. Let's spread our wings and fly. How beautiful. Lots of trolls whilst on the climbing frame. “We are nasty and we are going to eat you all up!” “Oh Please don't eat me, I don't taste very nice”. Lots of making up their own stories, lots of good imagination, listening to others and playing together. Cake sale – lovely cakes for all to enjoy and some books to buy and other things to do. Great time to get together and have a natter and see your children at play. Thursday off to the outside area. Lets see if the birds have come to eat anything from our birdfeeders. Some birds were very hungy. We also went to check to see if the water had risen down the bottom – it had – why? Because we have had lots of rain. We then hid some numbers and we had to find them. What numbers have you found? We finished off with Rabbit, Rabbit, Fox. |
