For Yoga this week we were learning how our bodies work. We discussed different part of our bodies and what they do. We practised different yoga moves and found out what happens to our bodies when we run up and down.
The children have been having fun with bubbles. We have been blowing lots of bubbles - quickly/slowly, but if too gentle they do not work! Blowing gently and slowly got more bubbles - if too quick only a few bubbles. They float because they are light but pop on sharp things. We have lots of budding artists in our pre-school with the children doing some beautiful paintings for "my mummy". We have been talking about differences in people and the children drew some fabulous pictures just using their feet and mouths. Come and take a look or have a go with your children at home - it really is quite tricky! We have been practising lots of team games for our sports day. This has been a huge success and the children are really enjoying some of our races and are really helpful and encouraging to their team mates. We have also been practising for our show of 'Handa's Surprise'. We are sure the children will be coming home singing new songs in preparation for it. This will be held on Tuesday 9 July at 9.30am. If parents could stay first thing and watch it, it would be great, then we will return to our normal session after. On Wednesday we went on our trip to Puxton Park. We had glorious sunshine and the children enjoyed playing outside, seeing the animals and the loved the soft play. We enjoyed a picnic together before heading back on the coach to preschool. On Thursday afternoon we went to the allotment. We picked some strawberries for snacks, mint, broad beans and chocolate mint! We had a lovely chat about how they felt and what they smelt of. We saw emerald bugs on the mind which were a beautiful bright colour. We played in the dried mud - which was fairy dust!

The children have been having lots of fun with water and learning about "sinking" and "floating". They had to guess which items would float and which would sink, and then they had to record their findings. We put the kitchen outside and the children enjoyed a BBQ with the children cooking the burgers, rolls and baguettes. What budding chefs we have! We also had the diggers and dumpers outside in the mud and stone pit. The children played acting out builders and had their own builders yard. They moved the mud to and from areas, with the large construction vehicles. There was a big crowd of children and they all played beautifully together and worked well as a team. We have also been making lots of mud pies. We got the children to find items to put in the pie and let them mix and squelch it up - now who wants to try some!!!!
