We are still coninuing to learn Thank You, Good, Hello and Hello Song in makaton signs.
For Yoga this week we had “Come on Daisy”. We need to go swimming, play with the frog jumping around, but oh no, quick, we need to run. Something is getting closer, oh its mumma duck. Come on Daisy – stay close. The world globes have been out this week, which has opened up lots of questions, hot and cold places to live, places that the children have visited such as Mallorca, Cornewall, Disneyland Paris. How did you get there? Fly, car, boat, walk and bus. Animal – what animals live in hot or cold places. We've had lots of group play around ponies. Grooming, jumping and leading them into the trailers and some fantastic neighing sounds. Shaving foam mixed with glitter – what fun. Squelch, squeeze, ooze through your fingers. How does it feel? Is it smooth? Iis it runny or lumpy? What shapes can you make? What can we use to make patterns? Let's draw with our fingers. On Thursday afternoon we went to our Outdoor Area. On the way we saw a huge pond filled with tadpoles. We sat and watched for quite a wile talking about the frog life cycle (which we will continue this term). The childre were very excited and can't wait to keep looking for the changes. At our outdoor area we had some large pieces of clear plastic and shook the bushes with the plastic underneath to see what bugs we could find (ands and flies only!). However, under our logs we found beetles, slugs, woodlice, centipete, spider, worms and ants. We finished with a game of “What's the Time Mr Wolf and walked safely home.

We are still continuing to learn Thank You, Please, Good, Morning Song and Hello.
For Yoga this week we had “Come on Daisy” A new term and a new yoga story. We had some new moves to learn and we had a discussion about how Daisy was feeling; sad, scared, happy, frightened. Let's see those faces. It was wonderful to see everyone back with lots of stories to tell. Places been, seen and many eggs eaten and found in egg hunts. Some egg hunts were tricky. Some had arrows to follow and others had clues to follow. The sun has been shining and everyone is smiling. Lots of exploration outside, finding spiders and ear wigs which are all coming out to play and we have a resident spider in the shed. The children keep going to check if he is still there. On Thursday afternoon we had a couple of new children join us for our Forest Club, so lots of discussion around staying safe up the road. The fence is now finished so we had a new path to our listening circle taking care of the holes. We explored the area making holes/marks in mud with sticks – what fun!!! Lots of stinging nettles are starting to grow, so not so much fun!!! We used a stick to hit some down – what great team work. We also had fun trampling them down to make a path to our wonderful den. We then had a game of “What's the Time Mr Wolf?” and then headed back to preschool with lots of smiles on our faces. |
