Weekly Makaton Signs: Thank you, Good, Hello
Yoga - Come on Daisy. Continuing with this story, lots of good actions and remembering of how the story goes. Well done everyone. Work experience week - Welcome Olivia and Nancie, here to come and play with us, lots of games and stories, lovely having those extra pairs of hands to play with the children and get involved in their games and play. More practice of welly wanging, egg and spoon and cheering on our team members. Supporting one another. Good team work. Unfortunately no forest school this week due to the hall becoming a polling station. Keen interest in our laptops and keyboards that we have to play with. Some were ordering their food shopping, others ordering pizza, some doing work, playing games and talking to Grandma. Oh and don't forget the phones. Who do we need to call, oh so busy, so much to do before the festival. Good understanding of what computers can be used for, not just games.

Weekly Makaton signs: Hello, Thank you and Good
Yoga "come on daisy" going through the story using actions, not the book, and our story sequence board. The children had a good understanding of the story and understood that it is not good to leave Mummies side as it can be scary and Mummy gets sad, well done guys. Now to learn the actions of how to tell the story, which can be very useful as some people cannot hear very well and so they use another form of talking by watching actions Rain stopped play Tuesday and we were due to go on a visit to Stanton Drew School to watch and take part in their sports day, but unfortunately had to be cancelled. Never mind another day to be arranged. Too many Princesses and not enough Princes, lots of dressing up and using the chalks to decorate their nails. The shed was the castle, and they were getting ready for the ball, but there was so much to get ready, the invites, party food and we need to decorate, dress, veil, shoes. Oh my word as a team so , so buy So many ideas, extending the game Weekly Makaton Signs: Hello, Good and Thank you
Yoga "Come on Daisy" - new term, new story to engage in. Props are out, the story sequence board is ready for all our storytellers. Daisy was wrong to leave Mum and to go so far away. Daisy was worried though, it started off as fun and interesting but then it became scary and frightening. Where is Mum? Hang on here is Mum. Daisy is happy again. This time Daisy stays close to Mum. Lots of fun water play, floating boats and sinking cars. Trying to keep the water in the tray and not on ourselves, Tricky! Some have found it much more fun to just get a cupful and pour it straight over ourselves. Never mind, its lovely and warm, we'll dry out. Also lots of pouring the sand into bottles and through sieves. Good steady hands needed and hand/coordination. Well done. Weekly Makaton Signs: Hello, Good and Thank you
Yoga - Goldilocks and the three bears - So good practically telling the stories themselves through their yoga moves with the tall trees and the big house and so good on the voices they use to say what the Bears say. Fantastic! The benefit of revisiting a story or a song, so that the children can become really familiar with it and comfortable to express themselves and sing and or dance and even make up funny voices to tell a story. Lots more practice of our sports day activities; egg and spoon, long jump and welly wanging. Some real team spirit being seen, supporting their team mates to do well. We had a special visitor this week; Lola (our puppet). The children really love the puppet Lola, and listen carefully. Lola unfortunately was sad, she was worried about returning to her own preschool as there had been a lot of name calling. This made Lola feel very sad. It was asked how the children would feel themselves and whether it was right to call people names. The children responded well and came up with ways to make Lola feel better, and how we should be kind to our friends and calling names is not kind. Well done guys Lola looks a lot happier now and she is leaving with a smile on her face. The puppet is a great way to interact with the children and to get certain messages across as a group and to get them thinking together as one. Caring for the babies, making sure they are fed, kept warm and especially cleaning their teeth if they have had sweets. Lots of caring, sharing, changing nappies and going out for some fresh air. Also lots of puppies out and about, some children were the puppies. We will have to start a puppy sideline "Kelly's Canines" |
