We are still learning Hello, Thank you and the Hello Song in Makaton signs. Get your child to show you what they have learnt.
Yoga – Come on Daisy. By revisiting, the children are really get to know the story and the actions and feel comfortable to join in as they know it. Grass – finally cut grass to feel, smell, let it fall, use it to make pies, to hide things underneath. Grass – so many things you can do with grass. Where did it come from? How did you make it? How does your mummy or daddy cut the grass? Was it a ride on mower or a push along? What's the name of your ride on mower? Who eats grass? Who lives in the grass? The grass opened up lots of discussion. All from grass, so much information and group play. Pegs and Pegboard – so many children have worked really hard on their concentration using the pegs to fill the holes. There are 100 holes to fill. Wow – what a lot of naming colours as they go and counting as far as they can., and when finished, individually taking each peg out. Excellent fine motor skills. Thursday afternoon. It was a very wet day but we dressed up in our waterproofs and had great fun splashing in puddles. We saw Mondi (the hen) hiding in the bushes but no chicks! Ask your child who Mondi is? We put up a shelter to stand under and decorate sticks and some of us enjoyed a ride around on the tarp. We finished off with a game of “What the time Mr Wolf” before heading back to preschool.
