Weekly Makaton signs are Hello, Thank you, Good and Hello Song.
For Yoga this week we had Come on Daisy. Remembering the sequence of events and the actions for each one such as dragonfly, fish, eagle and frog. Lots of flying, jumping, running away from that eagle. Also talking about feelings. How does Daisy feel? Sad, lonely, scared, frightened, shivering? Show those faces of feeling sad and scared, but wait its OK, its mumma duck. “Come on Daisy”. Daisy is now happy – let's see those happy faces. Babies, they need lots of care and attention. Looking after the babies giving them a wash. Oh! someone needs a clean nappy. Come on let's change them, then we can go for a walk with the buggy, don't forget a blanket – its a bit chilly today. Outside fun – having sleepovers. Some were lying on top of the table and others lying underneath for their bunk beds, but oh such noisy neighbours – we can not get to sleep, and who is that snoring? Its OK we have a potty by our bed if we need to go in the night, but best to go before we get into bed. When mum and dad are asleep we can play with our toys!!!! Noisy Neighbours game – the children are introduced to the instrument, the sound it makes, sometimes different sounds from one instrument depending on how it is played such as shaking or tapping. The children are then introduced to the name of the instrument. Everyone then pretends to be asleep on the mat, whilst one child hides and plays one of the instruments. The others are woken by this sound and have to guess which one it is. “Oh do be quiet, we are trying to sleep.” Each child gets a turn to hide and play one instrument. On Thursday afternoon we went to our Outdoor Area. We reminded the new children of our rules to stay safe. We were very careful around the stinging nettles. We finally finished with a game of “What's the Time Mr Wolf” and we carefully walked back to Preschool. Fruit kebabs – on Friday we were talking about different types of fruits, which one's we enjoyed and the texture of them. We all had a kebab stick and pushed which fruits we wanted onto it. When it came to snack time we all sat down and enjoyed eating them together.
