The children enjoyed staying cool by making Bird Feeds out of Cheerio and Pipe Cleaners. Excellent find motor skills and huge amounts of concentration was done. Come and have a look in our garden for them.
We are continuing our Gromit challenge over the holidays, so please bring any photos back with you in September.
The children have been busy practising for our standing long jump ready for sports day. The children enjoyed marking each others jumps on paper and were really encouraging to each other.
The children decided to paint some more cheerios and thread them through pipe cleaners to make bracelets. The children really enjoyed this activity. They then decided to give them to each other as friendship bracelets. It was lovely to see the children wanting to make others happy and we talked about how happy it made them felt.
Some children got really stuck into with the gloop (cornflour & water). Some even took off their shoes & socks and crawled about in it - they loved the feeling on their skin and were fascinated that it looked wet but was dry to touch.
We've been very busy and set up a laundrette and the children have been enjoying the dressing up clothes then hanging them out to dry on our washing lines - they even came back to check/feel the clothes to see if they were dry and ready to be folded up.
We had a very successful sports/fun day starting with a bouncy castle in the hall. Then it was onto the sports with Lynne leading red team, Lisa leading blue team & Julie leading green team. The events were organised & supervised by Kelly, with Trudie keeping score. The children were brilliant and there was great support from parents & families. Lots of points were scored by the children for their team & even the parents had a go at tunnel ball to score points for their child's team. To finish there was a highly competitive adult race with a confused start & a never ending finish line.
A huge thankyou to everyone who supported us in a very successful day. We raised over £60 in donations.
